Nicole Jenkins, ALC

I am an Associate Licensed Counselor in the state of Alabama and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I received my Master of Education from University of West Alabama in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My philosophy of counseling is rooted in my experience as a teacher. I chose to enter into the mental health field upon witnessing the brokenness, trauma, and despair I encountered in the lives of students, parents, and colleagues.

With 16 years of experience working in the school setting, I enjoy helping adolescents/teenagers work through mental health challenges they may encounter. Additionally, I am passionate about helping women navigate unique life experiences, including motherhood, pre/post pregnancy complications, pre-term birth, fertility challneges, unexpected birth outcomes, endometriosis, PCOS, chronic pelvic pain, hormone imbalances, (peri) menopausal, and/or mother wound healing.

With a deep understanding of the mind-body connection and the belief that healing begins by exploring the wisdom and felt sense held within the body, my therapeutic approach blends experiential and body-centered psychotherapies with Internal Family Systems (IFS)/parts work. I integrate somatic techniques and parts-based approaches to help clients access, understand, and process emotions and internal experiences held in the body.

I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, ALL Kids, Cigna/Evernorth, Optum, United Healthcare, United Behavioral Health, and Aetna insurance.  For out of network, I can provide a superbill in order for you to make a claim with your insurance provider. I am under the direct supervision of Pamela Quekemeyer, Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor in the state of Alabama #SC3180.
