I am an Associate Licensed Counselor (pending) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. I am also a Brainspotting Practitioner. My philosophy of counseling is rooted in my experience as a Registered Nurse. I chose to enter the mental health field after witnessing firsthand the profound impact that stress, trauma, grief, and emotional pain can have on both the mind and body. With eight years of experience working in acute medical and behavioral health settings, I developed advanced assessment, crisis intervention, and clinical judgment skills. This experience provided me a deep understanding of the connection between physical health, emotional well-being, and the nervous system.
I integrate somatic and neurobiological perspectives into my therapeutic work. I also utilize sand tray therapy to support deeper expression and insight. I view emotional struggles as showing up in both the mind and body, especially in how individuals respond to stress, overwhelm, and life experiences. In our work together, we will slow things down and make space to understand what is happening in your nervous system, not just your thoughts.
I am under the direct supervision of Pamela Quekemeyer, Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor in the state of Alabama #SC3180.
