Accepting clients in February

Kara Cargile, M.Ed.

I am a pending Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC), expected January 2026, and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montevallo. I bring experience working with individuals facing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, as well as providing crisis intervention during times of acute distress. My work is grounded in the belief of coming home to self - supporting clients in reconnecting with their identity, values, and inner sense of meaning. I offer affirming, LGBTQIA+-inclusive care and have a particular passion for identity development, navigating hopelessness and despair, supporting clients experiencing suicidal ideation, and helping individuals process disenfranchised grief, such as changes in identity, relationships, and/or other life transitions.

I value creativity as a therapeutic tool and believe healing can emerge through curiosity, self-expression, and intentional presence. I practice from a nervous-system-informed perspective, integrating mind-body approaches that honor the connection between emotional, physical, and relational experiences. I value creativity as a therapeutic tool and believe healing can emerge through curiosity, self-expression, and intentional presence.

I currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna insurance. For out of network, I can provide a superbill in order for you to make a claim with your insurance provider. I am under the direct supervision of Pamela Quekemeyer, Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor in the state of Alabama #SC3180.
